1). What's your online name? Why that?

Serellan aka "The Rooster" This rather long and confusing name came from several different places. Serellan is actually the combination of my and a friends last name, that we created when we played brothers in a Paladium RPG campaign. When I got onto the net in '95, my old BBS name of Warwolf was used, so I switched to Serellan.

The Rooster came about when I started playing R6/RS, I got pretty good with a sniper rifle. One night, the song "The Rooster" came on the radio when I was busy picking off the other team, and the name stuck.

Thus came the strange name of Serellan aka "The Rooster"

2). Tell us a bit about yourself. What do you do in real-life? Hobbies? Interests?

Work, wife, RS, modding. Thats about it. =) Seriously though, I enjoy hunting & camping,
paintball, Battletech, skiing, shooting, RPG's, & spiced rum. And of course, spending time with my wife, Angie.

I am currently considering a career change into the computer game design field. I plan to go to college next year and get a BA in Computer Game Design or Graphic Design/3D Entertainment.

3). Do you play Rainbow Six or Rogue Spear? Why one over another? And do you play any other games?

Rogue Spear. I started playing R6 last summer, when I got all Q3tested out. R6 was like a breath of fresh air, and I delved into it. Rogue Spear is a nice next step. Althought the graphics are better, they aren't what keeps me with RS, it is more of the improvements in the realism departement. Usually once a week I try to get in one good RTS game, lately Homeworld or AOE2.

4). The eternal question: Zone? MPlayer? IP? GameSpy? None? Why?

LAN! It's the only way to go! I am lucky in the fact that I have some close friends with a LAN setup, we connect once or twice a week for team fragfests. One time I jumped on the net (I think it was the zone), and I expirienced the lag and warp, I lasted 5 minutes before I quit. That was the last time I tried that. Maybe if I get a cable modem I would try again.

5). Serellan, you seem to have recently gained popularity because your excellent single player mods. How do you come to a decision about the theme or storyline behind a mission?

In the single player mission mods I have made, the map has guided the entire mod. I would make the retextured map first, and then I would make a mission that fits with that map's theme.

6). Do you have any long-term goals with your modding projects? Anything really big you'd like to share?

I do have a couple more single player missions on the backburner, along with a skin pack that is 99% done (just have one bug to kick). I am thinking of tying all of my mission mods into a pack, with a little more story development and background. This would be like a mini-campaign (although it would be a biggie) complete with Terrorist Hunt & Lone Wolf Missions.

7). If there were one (or two) things that could be done better, in terms of modding, for Rogue Spear/Urban Ops, what would it be?

The new Mod system for UO is great. It makes things so much easier for us modders, and
hopefully the community will be more willing to try mods that don't overwrite files. I have found one problem with the system, but it is minor. I think the biggest thing that needs to be done is for RSE to release the map plugins. If we could actually make maps, I think RS would live for a long, long time.
